The big event going on in Seattle this weekend is Sea Fair. This annual event has been going on for decades with an air show, boat races and numerous activities down on the waterfront. Appropriately upon our arrival in Seattle, we encountered a rain storm. What would Seattle be without a few raindrops on our windshield-big, fat, juicy raindrops in this case? Like all true Seattle residents, it did not even put a pause in our day of getting settled in here. Above planes from the air show fly over us on Interstate-5.
The park is convenient to Seattle and points further north just off Interstate-5 and Highway 99. It is setup on a slight downhill grade with lots of trees making the city seem miles away. This is our favorite kind of park with paved parking sites for the coach and car and a patio we can maybe sit out on (though normally we don't sit outside much because we are either going someplace or we are attached to our computers.) The Wi-Fi here is sometimes marginal so for three weeks we will have to deal with that. The solution may be writing the blog very early in the morning.
Tomorrow is my aunt's 98th birthday party. We will see most of the family then as everyone gathers to celebrate this remarkable lady's birthday. Well, I will be back to you with photos and stories as we go during the next three weeks on this personal stop in our traveling lives. It is strange to be almost done with our work and transitioning into being traveling civilians again with the horizon beckoning in so many directions between here and Florida.
Love your posts. We use to live in the Seattle area and remember all the fun this time of year. Enjoy!
