The two days we stayed in Casa Grande seemed to fly by with a visit to
Ironwood Village Tuesday morning to see our former neighbors and friends during their Tuesday
morning coffee meeting. They were celebrating “Fat Tuesday” with Monica’s baked, stuffed
French toast (delicious) and a guest speaker from the local police department. Officer Anderson spoke on community watch programs stressing,
“If you see something, say something!”
He is a great commentator and we picked up a few new tips on protecting our
property like making a list of your valuables with their serial numbers. We saw more of our neighbors at this
meeting than on the prior trip in January so it was a wonderful time.
Then we made a quick trip up to Phoenix to the Mayo Clinic to
see my doctor and we received great news on my health. The traffic went smoothly and we avoided rush hour just
barely coming back arriving in Casa Grande in time to view a beautiful setting sun.
We sank into our easy chairs and finished watching our DVD
on the television series “Breaking Bad” (a very well executed storyline on a
difficult subject with fabulous photography.) Wow, what an ending!
The show was broadcast over six years on one of the networks and every episode left us anxious
to see the next. Netflix is the best way to go on this, or you can buy it on DVD.
The time went by too quickly with some friends left unseen like my good friends at Dillard's until
the next trip through town. We had
the coach and car washed and waxed, got our satellite TV up and working, got
some groceries, did a bit of dashing around and before we knew it our last day
in town was gone except to catch up with two more couples in Palm Creek before
packing up to hit the road for Quartzsite, AZ. The weather is warming, the sun was out all day and life is good.
