Since most of you follow us on FaceBook these days, I'll also alert you also with a post there so you don't have to scroll through an entire blog to see a new entry. The reason for putting them in date order too is that we like to publish our blog in book form at the end of each year so we have a "hard copy" of our year's travels. Then if the blog ever goes away, we can still enjoy our impressions and photos from any given year. (I don't always trust that the internet version will go on forever!) I hope you find these stories as interesting as we did.
Sometimes going down the road in the car or RV, we spy some of the most unusual of traveling companions. Such was the case on April 2nd along Highway 15 near Newberry Springs, CA on a trip to Shoshone, California. It seems artists and art come in all forms. Out here there is often metal art to be found in front yards or around commercial enterprises. Of course there is also frequently a western theme in these artistic renditions. So it wasn't surprising when this horse and stagecoach passed by us. As you can see, they were life-size too!
The only thing better than passing them at sixty miles per hour would have been to see them displayed at their final destination. "Happy Trails to You"... horse and stagecoach.
And above is another example of an entire stage coach already in place we saw a few days later...
